However, this time, Ukraine suffered a setback when, on the night of March 14, Hungarian troops, together with Hitler's forces, occupied these territories. June 30, 1941, is also considered a historical date, when Yaroslav Stetsenko, on behalf of the OUN, proclaimed Ukraine an independent state. The Germans suppressed this idea, and OUN members were expected to be shot and arrested.
